TBS holds Shabbat services each Friday night at 7:15 pm. Our Saturday
morning Shabbat service starts at 9:00 am. Please call the office for
any changes to these times or check
our
calendar.
At TBS, men and women participate in all aliyot and ritual functions. Most services are conducted by the Rabbi, but at least once a month, a lay member or family leads a congregational service. Our Ritual Committee assists the Rabbi in service preparation, lay services and the development of ritual-related and other life cycle policies, including bnei mitzvah and marriage ceremonies. TBS members are proud of our unusual levels of member leadership and participation in services. We encourage members to help lead Shabbat and holiday services and celebrations through prayer, music, readings and divrei Torah. Regardless of the quality of our voices, we are truly a “singing shul". |

B'nei Mitzvah | |
|
Each Bar and Bat Mitzvah at TBS is a celebration of community effort and achievement.
Our members understand and appreciate the commitment and effort that young people invest in
studies and actions leadings to bnei mitzvah, including educational and service requirements. The Ritual Committee works with families during the two years prior to the celebration to help the Bnei Mitzvah approach this important life cycle event with the understanding and confidence to make this a real day of celebration. |

In addition to Bnei Mitzvah, our community participates in times of joy, grief and voyage that mark
the life of each of our members. Over the years, TBS has become home to many inter-married couples and families, prompting much discussion on the issues of intermarriage and Jewish continuity. One result is our Intermarriage Policy, which outlines the TBS approach to performing weddings in our synagogue. Our Bikkur Cholim (Visiting the Sick) and G’milut Chasadim (Deeds of Lovingkindness) committees assist the Rabbi in efforts to help those in need of attention and caring. TBS also owns and maintains a cemetery as another means for continuing our commitment to the life cycle needs of our members. |
