Sarah Liebman is the founder and coordinator of Machar and Urban Jews PDX. She is one of three Americans to win the 2008 Charlie Award, an award recognizing Birthright alumni for outstanding post-Birthright service to their local Jewish communities. Her workshop at the National Coalition for the Advancement of Jewish Education Conference was profiled in The Jerusalem Post. She recently became Executive Director of Morasha Community Alliance for Jewish Education and Director of Portland’s Florence Melton Adult Mini-School. She holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Portland State University and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Grinnell College in Iowa. She is an alumna of Portland Jewish Academy and of Portland’s Florence Melton Adult Mini-School.
