Rabbi Michal Woll to Serve as High Holy Day Rabbi

Photo of Rabbi WollCongregation Beth Am will welcome Rabbi Michal Woll to officiate at the High Holy Days this fall, beginning with Rosh Hashana on the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Rabbi Woll received rabbinic ordination in June 2007 from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. Following her ordination she became the first rabbi of Congregation Shir Shalom in Woodstock, VT, and then served Beth Jacob Synagogue in Montpelier, VT.

As a student, Rabbi Michal served on a college campus, at a retirement and extended care community, and in various congregational settings. To all of them, she brought her love of music, of teaching and of Judaism as not only a communal identity but as a transformative, spiritual path.

Rabbi Michal has taught seminars on prayer through movement and “praying with the whole self” at Jewish conclaves, women’s spirituality conferences, and rabbinic retreats.

Rabbi Michal, her husband Jonathan, and her newborn daughter, Sima Aleeza, will all be joining us for the High Holy Days.

As in the past few years, Congregation Beth Am will not require tickets for those who wish to attend services. Voluntary contributions are gratefully accepted and may be mailed to Rhoda Rappaport, 16942 Summer Creek, San Antonio, TX 78248-1409. Advance payment for the Break-the Fast should also be sent to her (
$10/individual, $20/family).
